SCM has successfully managed their projects to the complete satisfaction of their customer. The roles of all the team players are established and clearly identified in the organization chart. Planning involves preparation of a job cost budget and CPM schedule and is a joint effort between the home office and field management team. The CPM budget will involve a complete breakdown of the job into different activities with allocation of labor and duration to each activity. Then the budget is prepared based on this schedule. Periodic review of both the CPM and job cost helps SCM monitor the progress and cost overruns.

Job execution is the responsibility of the field management team. The Project Superintendents are aware of the time frames for each activity and coordinate with the home office and the government representative on a daily basis. The schedules are updated monthly and a “look ahead” schedule for every 15-days will be prepared. Labor, equipment and material requirements are coordinated to ensure timely completion of the project.

Any problems at the site will be coordinated with the Government representative. A RFI with a proposed solution is generated and submitted to the Government approval. In addition, weekend work permits for digging, fire and outages are coordinated by the Field Staff with the Government representative.

Tool Box Safety Meetings will be conducted every 15-days and the Safety Officer will make surprise visits to the site. Compliance with OSHA and other safety standards is mandatory at all SCM project sites. MSDS Sheets for products at the site are maintained.

SCM’s Superintendents and Project Managers strictly implement environmental protection plans. While working in this secured site, gate pass clearances will be obtained prior to scheduling the crew. Documents for legal authorization to work will be maintained at the office.

The Superintendent will maintain daily field reports and QC reports. Testing logs and rework item lists will be maintained by the Superintendent and periodically checked by the General Superintendent and Project Manager.
