It is the desire of the management that all the employees recognize the value of practicing and adhering to the safety program. Further more, it is SCM’s desire to cooperate with all agencies concerned with the safety programs in an effort to eliminate injuries to the employees who come under their jurisdiction.
| SCM’s employees are routinely trained and updated in the various safety precaution methods and procedures to conform to the standard safety requirements and practices as required by the federal, state and local jurisdictional authorities. Further more its first aid and CPR course for its site project managers, superintendents and foremen should promote the individual’s safety SCM hopes to derive from its total safety program.
SCM developed a comprehensive company safety plan and all the site superintendents are advised to strictly follow these guidelines. Safety signs are always posted at the site. Copies of MSDS sheets for all materials used on the project are maintained at the site. In addition, OSHA and Corps of Engineers manuals (EM-385) and guidelines are maintained in the office for reference. Its superintendents are aware of the erosion and environmental control measures required by the state agencies and adhere to these requirements. Duties of safety team:
Job specific safety plans with activity hazard analysis and accident prevention plans are prepared for each project. Prior to start up any new activity on the project, the safety officer will insure that all the workers are briefed about the safety requirements related to the activity. In addition, MSDS sheets will be maintained in the field. Hazardous and flammable materials will be stored in accordance to manufacturer’s instructions and complying with EM-385/OSHA requirements. |
